Crowd
Gisèle Vienne
Information
Created in 2017, Crowd is set against the backdrop of a rave party. On a stage strewn with the remnants of the party, fifteen performers move in a hypnotic, slow-motion rhythm to the beat of an electronic soundtrack. Between collective ecstasy and solitude, desire, violence, tenderness and fear course through the bodies. More than just a show about rave culture, Crowd explores the emotions that flow within a group and the way in which a crowd becomes a stage for our vulnerabilities, our impulses and our passions. The Théâtre Populaire Romand and La Chaux-de-Fonds, Swiss Capital of culture 2027, are dedicating an inaugural spotlight to this essential work by the choreographer and director Gisèle Vienne.
