The opening. We’ve been waiting for it, and it arrives early. A watchmaking town that ends up throwing its own mechanisms slightly out of sync. An exceptional initiative. On 31 December 2026, something emerges from the night. Launching a Capital of Culture inevitably means opening up more than just doors. It means opening up venues, disciplines and boundaries. It means circulating culture, bringing different audiences together and fostering encounters. And seeing what happens when an entire city springs into action. The first venue to throw open its doors: the Anciens abattoirs. An iconic site in La Chaux-de-Fonds, it will be run by lcdf27 for a year.
