The artistic project developed by artist/architect Giona Bierens de Haan pays tribute to DIY alternative culture and its relationship with the city’s industrial architectural heritage. The project involves creating a small-scale replica of the building at 90 Rue de la Serre in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Designed as a portable architectural structure, the pavilion will be moved to various locations around the city throughout the year of culture. Its relocation is accompanied by parades that highlight the importance of alternative culture as something to be protected.

With extensive experience in designing temporary pavilions and spatial structures for cultural institutions and festivals across Europe, his work is characterised by an exploration of poetic language, an expressive use of raw materials and a sparing use of resources.
