Information
Zurich (Switzerland)
Sources is an intervention by Fountain Rose (Pamela Rosenkranz and Joana de la Fontaine) at the entrances and in the garden of les Anciens Abattoirs. Green light and a scent mark the entrances, while a translucent pavilion unfolds in the garden over time. Recalling local Kikajons, the pavilion holds shifting light and a film exploring rivers, forests, botany and the city’s water systems. A fountain, observatory and well of local knowledge, Sources opens onto the visible and invisible resources that shape the territory.

Biographies
Pamela Rosenkranz is a conceptual artist whose work bridges art, science and philosophy. A leading figure in contemporary Swiss art, she has developed a distinct practice that examines the intersections of human perception, ecological systems and the materiality of existence. Her installations often employ light, colour and synthetic materials, prompting reflection on the boundaries between the natural and the artificial. Her work has been presented at major international institutions, including the Venice Biennale, Kunsthaus Bregenz, Fondation Beyeler, New Museum and Stedelijk Museum. In 2015, she represented Switzerland at the 56th Venice Biennale with Our Product. She is also co-founder of Fountain Rose, an architecture and research practice.
Joana de la Fontaine is an architect whose work unfolds between art and architecture. Through drawing and spatial research, her practice is guided by an interest in colour, materiality and light. She studied architecture at ETH Zurich, where she developed a deep engagement with phenomenology and the poetics of space. She has held teaching appointments at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich, Kingston University and HKB Bern. She has contributed to lectures and critiques at the University of Cambridge, Parsons School of Design, Kingston School of Art, the Oslo School of Architecture and Design, Engadin Art Talks and ETH Zurich. Her work has been featured in various publications, including Arch+ and Flash Art.
